Does anyone have a Maggie Sottero dress on sale? My wedding is in 3 months and I dont have one yet =(? I was looking at Maggie Sottero dresses, I like almost all of them (teffata material is a plus and lace). If you have a wedding dress on sale or know of someone please help! I was sized: 33.5 bust, 27 waist, 36 hips and im 5.1 tall, 110 weight. I would preffer a white, dimon white but if its a very light ivory it will be okay too. Thanks! Sarah I am interested on the dresses. Please email me some pictures It can also be an Anjolique dress or any other, I just prefer Maggie and Taffeta but I am open to others.

Bride, bridesmaid and MOH 2008! replied: "Try the used wedding dress sites. These are two of my favorites; You can also try eBay, but limit yourself to North America, and only ready-made gowns. You can get it in three weeks or so that way."

courtney s replied: "Try Craigs list in your area, people are always selling them on there! Also try e-bay.. Good Luck!!!! :)"

joy 25 replied: "Did you try going to her website and checking to see when is her sale on her dresses? Call some of the bridal Shops To ask about any sales comming up or some good deals."

Xanthe replied: "The other answers are good - but here are heaps more...="

mamax3 replied: "Check out E-Bay! They have wedding dresses cheap! Have you ever heard of Davids Bridal?? They have a web site and you can buy sale items. You aren't a BIG size so you will have luck. You can also go to a store and check the red tags they have small sizes all day long! Beautiful Dresses. My wedding is October 25 dont feel bad i don't have the "perfect" dress yet either..."

Mandy ♥ *\o/* replied: "Why does it have to be Maggie Sottero? Geez, 3 months isnt leaving it very long for delivery, alterations etc. Also, Sottero dresses are expensive!! Why not forget it (its not like u have a dream dress that u have fallen in love with) and go to a bridal shop with your bridesmaids and mother and have fun choosing a dress!!!"

where can i buy a wedding dress that is stitched in china? i went to bridesmart, found a maggie sottero dress? and was told by the sales lady that it will be stitched in China! so if that means i get hosed for money that i as might as well go directly to the factory, it makes more sense-the dress is really pretty and i've looked on line for maggie sottero's dresses and they are over priced-any ideas on other websites that offer decent dresses made overseas?

D4Pres2012 replied: "a factory is just that, a factory. they don't sell dresses, they manufacture them. you can try to find a wholesaler, or the distributor who sells them to bridesmart, but contacting a factory won't get you anywhere. but the idea of a wholesaler is they sell huge quantities to retailers like bridesmart, so probably they won't sell just one dress to you."

Ashley D replied: "the factory is in china, your paying whatever they told you were going to pay, its just getting made in china. settle down, your not going to get hosed for money, your just getting a dress that was made in china. and given the quality of a maggie sottero dress, they are NOT overpriced. seriously, her dresses are of amazing quality. you just happend to get lucky and find a deal on one."

Babs replied: "Check this site: I got mine from them ...this one ( ) & it's a remake of Mori Lee. The one thing you should know, though is that every detail isn't the same. EX: instead of the cuff look on mine it has a line of rhinestones....I actually think mine looks better than in the pic. If you are brave enough, I'd say go for it ! My dress only cost me $220 (including the S&H) and it fits me like a glove (you send in all your measuments & they make it) so not only did I save on the dress, but, no alteration costs either ! :)"

Hillary replied: "Check lightinthebox.com. They have 100s of dresses you can see on other sites, only for like half the price because they're made in China. Just watch out for the time frame ... they do the tailoring too, and they need like 21 days to do it, plus shipping. Be sure to check that fine print."

PattyRose75 replied: "You can look on E bay they have a lot of gowns that are made in China. You can have them custom make what you want. You can also go to and get a dress custom made like you want at an affordable price."

Sunny replied: "http://www.shopforlover.com you may try this website.they have many kinds of beautiful wedding dresses, so you have a huge selection. they have been dressing brides and their bridal parties for about more than 10 years . they have our own factory and do wholesale business, retail and OEM. you send pics to them, they can according to your styles, request, color and size custom-made for you. the price is reasonable, the quality is very good! i hope it can help you.good luck!"

khowar62785 replied: "sheshopping.com is nice too. Heard good reviews on that one from brides.com."

Rebecca C replied: "Alot of dresses are made in China. You can try doing an internet search, some factories may sell directly to you, others won't. Check on You can choose from their premium range, which will include things like gloves, veil, petticoats, shipping in the price. But you can also ask them for a quote from their standard range, which is cheaper. Goodluck!"

Sample Sale Dresses: Worth the Money? I have really expensive taste and I love the more expensive looking wedding dresses. But, I don't have that type of budget. I've seen designer gowns at sample sales and I was wondering if they're worth buying or more trouble than they're worth? I have a budget of $1,200 for a dress and alternations. If I can't go with a designer gown on sale, then I was just going to stick with a Maggie Sottero dress. She's one of my favorite, more affordable designers. So, has anyone bought a higher-end sample sale dress and what was your experience? I live outside of NYC, so I was thinking about visiting Kleinfeld's annual sample sale. But, I worry about stained and torn dresses and tons of alternations to fix them.

grammie replied: "Any designer dresses I have seen on sale or sample have still been in the thousands. Have you watched Say Yes To The Dress?? Their samples are still like I said in the thousands, I would stay with Maggie Sottero."

rmcd replied: "I got a silk satin Mon Cheri 2BE Bride dress for almost nothing. (As in under $100.) Alterations will cost me $300 max. My dress is flawless as well. Look around."

Mrs. Beatty replied: "Maggie Sottero's dresses are stunning. I would go with her dresses and spend the extra money on something else for the wedding. I bought a sample dress for my second dress so it was tea length and there was nothing wrong with it. No stains, nothing. Maybe you could buy a Maggie Sottero dress for the ceremony and find a cheaper designer tea length sample dress for the reception. Good luck."

mydarlyngirl replied: "I bought an off-the rack dress that was several years old made by anjolique- because it was the only one left and an 'older style' (like wedding dresses have changed much in the last 10 years) I got it for $50 (original price $1000) the idea is like a sample because many people have tried it on... For me it was completely worth it because I am a low-maintenance bride who wants to keep her wedding cheap. It still is a beautiful gown but I would not have paid $1000 for any dress...."

Tara replied: "Try this site (their store is located somewhere in New Jersey.) They have VERY lovely dresses, and a pretty good selection:"

M L replied: "I thought these were pretty and looked designer made. Price is right and read feed-backs to see if others have been happy with purchases. "

Would this be a fair asking price for selling a Maggie Sottero wedding dress? I have a wedding dress that I have for sale. It's a Maggie Sottero Teresa in Diamond white. It's a style that was discontinued in 2006, I believe. The original retail on the tag is $1180, with a mark down of $900. Tags are still attached and I have the Certificate of Authenticity. I did have it altered and a bustle was put in. The length would most likely work for someone who is about 5'5". I am 5'2" and it was still too long for me because of the detailing on the bottom. I never wore the dress because it ended up being too big. It is a size 14 and I ended up at a sizw 8 by the ime the wedding came around. My thinking is that the alterations and bustle will save someone around $250 in alterations, since most women I know are not as short as me. And the length will also depend on how high the shoes and how full the crinoline. I would like to ask $450 for it. Befor I spend money listing this on ebay or elsewhere, do you think that would be a fair asking price???? I am not trying to sell it HERE, just wondering if that would be a fair asking price based on the details. I have looked at these on ebay constantly since February. Maggies have definitely sold for $300-500 on there. I have placed many on my watch list. I even watched this same style sell for $380. It was Oyster in color and not altered. As far as next to nothing, ones that are worn or damaged sell for less than $100 and most David's Bridal styles go for around $150 I guess I have done some homework on this already, LOL. I am just afraid of over pricing since I am not sure if the bustle adds value or takes away value. I would think it adds value because I know it cost me around $250 to get alterations and a bustle in my dress(es)

Steph replied: "I think $450 is very realistic, and make sure people know that it is brand new, never worn, but has been altered! In your description, write all the measurements, less questions for you, just as a suggestion!"

chloe1995 replied: "Honestly, I would try selling it for more first...you can always come down in the price...also try craigslist.com....you can always start a higher bid and add "or best offer". As far as I know, Maggie Sottero dresses are quite popular, so I bet you can get more for it....try around $600."

spagirl23188 replied: "I think that is fine"

melouofs replied: "I'd say it would be way too much because I've seen the gowns on eBay that sell for a fraction of that price. I'm sorry you spent so much on something you never could wear, but the truth is, previously worn or not, if someone is in the market for a dress like that, they are loking to pay next to nothing."

VAWeddingSpecialist replied: "That is a steal for a Maggie Sottero design ... I think you'll definitely be able to sell it. You could also try posting it on ... if that doesn't work, I'm sure you could donate it and then take the tax deduction - a lot of people would really love a dress like that but can't afford it."

Shelly replied: "I think 450 would be a great price, it beats most of the prices at Davids and its already has the bustle"

MissLoriSunshine replied: "list it in the nearest big city to yours classifieds. and out it BIN on eBay w/ a best offer link for $600. i think it will sell. STRESS that it is NEVER worn and dresses can always be let back out."

Lydia replied: "Your chances of getting anything over 200 is slim."

wedding dresses sale? do wedding dresses by designers like maggie sottero ever go on sale? i'm not in a big rush to get a dress as my wedding is over a year away and wonder if the dress i want will go on sale...or be discontinued.

Vashti replied: "Wedding dress prices are set by the individual shops who carry them, not by Maggie Sottero. Check with the shops in your area who carry Maggie Sottero and ask to be put on their e-mail list. That way if they have sales or promotions, you'll know about them. As for discontinued styles, check with a shop who carries the line and ask them if they can contact the manufacturer and see what the chance is of the style you want being discontinued in the next year."

Barrie O replied: "You can learn sewing and make your own, perfect dress."

basketcase88 replied: "I'm a bridal consultant in a bridal shop, and while we don't discount our dresses (unless they're discontinued by the designer) we do negotiate. Most brides aren't aware of this, but there is some room for negotiation in the price of the gown. It's completely dependent upon the shop as well, but our owner will cut a price if that's what it will take to get the sale. If a bride leaves our store saying "I'll think about it," she rarely comes back, and we know it. But if we can get you to buy your dress, then we've made that sale. Some owners are more willing to do what it takes to get that sale than others. Or, if we can't lower the price any, we'll throw in a veil for free, or a pair of shoes, or a simple bustle. On a Maggie dress, if it's less than 3 years old, it's not going to be discontinued this year. But there are some of her "older" gowns which are very classic, and they've been around for several years, and they aren't going to be discontinued anytime soon either. Basically, as long as a style is selling, it's not going to be discontinued. Also, some stores will offer a discount on a designer's line if they have what's called a "trunk show" in their store. That's when the designer or a representative brings in the entire line to a store, and you're able to try them all on. If there's a designer you've got your heart set on, then check the designer's website to see if there's a trunk show in your area anytime soon. Our store will typically offer between 10-15% off our cost if you order during a trunk show, so it's worth checking out. Also, you say you've got over a year, don't put off buying your dress too long. I'd suggest about 9 months before your wedding is the latest you should wait. The sooner you order your dress, the more flexibility you have in what you can order. I've had dresses take up to 9 months to come in, and remember after that, you still usually have to get some alterations done, and I tell my brides to allow 2-3 months for that. Good luck!"

tiffany replied: "Yes they do, sample dresses anyways. Around March and November you can find the samples in bridal salons and they're marked on sale for a super low price. I just started selling sample dresses and am buying them from bridal salons on ebay for $200 or less. Maggie Sottero is a popular designer and you can find them everywhere. Sample dresses at bridal salons are around 50% or more off. The dresses while in season don't go on sale unless it's a trunk show. There are other good deals online from brides that have already worn their non-sample dress or for some reason no longer need it and it's still new. You'll still get a good deal. It's worth it!"

Maggie Sottero dress? I can't find one style dress anywhere! None of the boutiqes in a 70 mile radius of me carries this gown(Chrystelle), I've called so many places. I have seen the dress online for sale, but I'm weary of buying a gown over the internet. I haven't even been able to try it on, so I don't know if it will fit my body type. Do boutiques sometimes order a sample out of request? or can i request one from the manufacuturer?

B2B 6-27-09 replied: "Askt he stores if they can order something for you to try without having to buy it. Or take a road trip. Or search for a similar dress."

ginabeaner1213 replied: "You would have to call the boutique and ask but usually if the boutique carries a certain brand but doesn't have all the styles then they can usually put in an order for you."

Soon to be Mrs. Smith replied: "I've had shops get them for me from the designer themselves.. you might see if someone in your area that carries a lot of maggie dresses can do that.."

stamper replied: "The boutique I bought my dress from would order samples but basically you had to pay a certain amount if you didn't end up wanting it. I think it was like $300 for them to get the sample if the didn't have it. If you didn't buy the dress you still had to pay the $300. I would be leary of buying a gown on the internet as well, too many horror stories I have encountered here. Can you maybe find a dress that is similar in structure to see how it would fit, then order the Maggie dress? I would do that if you really think that may be the dress. I went through the same thing trying to find a dress I saw in a mag. Ultimately it is the dress I bought but I had to call every shop within the three states around me to find a shop to try it on. The shop closest to me ended up getting it finally so I could try it on. If it is a new style many shops may not have received their samples yet, so I would trying calling those same shops back in a couple of months to see if they have it yet. Good Luck"

Emmanuelle E replied: "Call and ask or E-mail and ask It can't go wrong and don't stress stress is no good for a bride to be Darlin'"

♥ April ♥ replied: "Go to Gesinee's over in Concord or send them an email. I believe that they charge about $65.00 to order the dress from the designer. If you like the dress and decide to buy it then they put that $65.00 towards the price of the dress. If not, then you are out $65.00 dollars. I got my dress at Gesinee's - but I had no choice. My dress was discontinued and I had to get it off the rack...they gave me a great price because it was off the rack, but they are known for raising the prices. I would call the place in Pleasanton that I told you about and see if they are willing to do it...I got my alterations done their because I love the people who own the place. But Gesinee's carries a huge stock of designers and dresses - it's a great place to go to try things on...I work fairly close to there. I'll sneak by and see you in your dress. LOL"

Kristie replied: "I am also wanting to be a Maggie bride! I am having a similar problem with the dress I am trying to find - Grace Kelly. I actually found it at one place and set an appointment to try it on and then I got a call a few days before my appointment saying they had sold their stock dress. They then told me that if I absolutely wanted the dress to try on, I could pay a fee between $75-150 to cover the shipping and handling to have a sample dress sent from the manufacturer. You should contact your local bridal stores and see if they also offer this service. Just to add, I opted not to do this as my wedding is about 2 yrs away and I figure I will just keep searching for my dress, but if you absolutely need it now, then this seems like the best way to go."

Maggie Sottero wedding dress fake or real? So I am looking at this Maggie Sottero wedding dress in a shop. It is a discontinued dress so it is on sale for $450.00. The tags on the inside say Maggie Sottero however it doesn't say "couture" and the only label I could find with a name on it said "Imperial" but I can't find any pics of this dress online. How do I know if it is real or not? I wouldn't care but this dress was made for me and fits me like a glove.......oh and the name tag also says made in China which apparently is common for designers to do- what do you all think?
